Membership Application

SUMMARY : The Society was formed in 1957 by a number of railway enthusiasts in the Newport area. Today, the Society has a membership of approximately 100, coming mainly from the Newport and Cardiff area. Meetings are monthly, ten in all for a complete season, commencing with the AGM in September and going through to June of the following year. We take a break in July and August. The programme planning is usually completed and available for viewing between 6 and 12 months in advance. Additionally, from time to time we promote railtours and other excursions to preserved railways and sites of interest. Our publications include a twice yearly magazine (partly in colour), the 'Journal' issued Spring and Autumn, and separately a number of Newsletters (typically two) in between the Journal dates, to keep members fully updated on Society affairs.

Membership is by subscription, our terms being:

Membership is annual, commencing on 1st September the subscription being Twelve Pounds fifty pence (£12.50) for full Membership and Two Pounds fifty pence (£2.50) for Associate or Additional Membership (same benefits but no additional Journal or other publications sent).

Non members and other guests are still welcome to attend meetings but are subject to an admission charge of £3 per person for each meeting. Members make a contribution of £2.
