Welcome to the Monmouthshire Railway Society pages. These are interim pages which will be constantly updated while our site is being reviewed, renewed and refreshed. The Monmouthshire Railway Society has been in existence since 1957 and has fostered and continues to promote interest in all aspects of railways, be it steam, diesel, contemporary, historical, technical or photographic. Our members have long recorded and chronicled the changes that have taken place on U.K and other railways, and some of this material, in addition to that specific to the railways of Monmouthshire, which has a rich and varied railway past, will be available on this site as our website develops.
If you have any interest in railways, be it cursory, casual, professional or historical then call by regularly, where you will find much to interest, intrigue, educate and even entertain you. We have a vast collection of photographs, both past and present, a selection of which will be made available on our Gallery pages (subject to copyright) in the coming months. Please feel free to come back and browse…… Our website is due to be re-launched in 2008, with a completely new format. It will be the 3rd incarnation.

	Ebbw Vale Branch news - a South Wales branch being brought back to life in the 21^st Century.
